WHAT IS A SAGE?

In Buddhism, a sage is someone who has achieved enlightenment or Nirvana, and has transcended ignorance and suffering. Sages are compassionate beings who help others free themselves from suffering and guide them towards liberation. They have a deep understanding of reality's nature and are not drawn in by the lifelessness of views, opinions, and certainty. Sages are also said to have an impartial view of the world.
